Since Emma Raducanu won $1.1 million on the “Jeopardy!” hit “Uno” in January, she has stayed very busy playing in tournaments across the world.
On Wednesday, she met the Duchess of Cambridge at a friendly event on the opening day of the BGC London Open, a PGA Tour event.
Playing doubles with a teammate, the 21-year-old Raducanu hit four aces en route to a 7-5, 6-1 win over Prince Harry’s ex Cressida Bonas. Raducanu will next play in Thursday’s morning draw with Paul Drinkhall, who is also ranked among the top 100 players in the world. The final is Friday.
“I’m excited,” Raducanu said after her win over Bonas. “It’s one of my top two priorities in tennis. I’m still on tour. It’s always fun when you get to play with someone you respect and like. But this is the seventh tournament that I’ve played in the last six months. It’s good to keep it going.”
Bonas once dated William and Harry. In January, she was an enthusiastic supporter of England’s women’s soccer team at the Euro 2016 tournament.
“It’s not a great day to be a little princess on my own. I’m enjoying it,” Raducanu said after the match. “So I’m excited that she’s here to support me.”
