Former Jeopardy! champions and award-winning actors Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik have joined forces to bring the iconic game show “Jeopardy!” back to the big screen, it was announced Monday at the New York Television Festival.
Bialik will serve as host and producer alongside Jennings as the pair bring the game show to life for 21st Century Fox. Bialik played the show as a child with a passion to one day make a film version.
PHOTOS and behind-the-scenes photos from the film are now available on the Jeopardy! website.
The film, based on the 2018 novel by Alex Blumberg (“This American Life”), will take the form of a feature film, both sets and such.
“I grew up watching the show, being intimidated by Alex Trebek and wondering if a Jeopardy! movie would ever happen. Now that I’m in it, I get to participate, produce and host it! This is an insane dream come true,” Bialik said in a statement.
Nicholas Pileggi (“Goodfellas,” “Casino”), Craig Zadan and Neil Meron (“Chicago,” “Hairspray”), and Sharon Kleinberg will also produce. Zadan will also be the executive producer of the “Peter Pan Live!” musical which will air live on NBC on December 4th.
