UConn’s star freshman guard, Crystal Dangerfield, has returned home to Atlanta after she broke her finger and will be out for the rest of the season.

Nika Muhl, a freshman who played at Brighton High School in Georgia, suffered an injury to her left foot in a scrimmage on Monday in Storrs, Connecticut. She’s out for the rest of the season. UConn coach Geno Auriemma said: “We’ll kind of take stock of it in the next two or three days and see where we are, how deep we’re at.”
On Monday, after UConn beat Alabama, the coach sounded optimistic about Dangerfield. He said: “We will always have Crystal, she’s a great player. She’s also a great person. She’s who you don’t want to get injured. Just the way we like it, she’s missing the entire season and we’ll go with what we’ve got.”

The Huskies lost Arike Ogunbowale to a broken foot earlier this year.
Muhl said she has broken a bone in her foot and is expected to be out for the rest of the season, according to USA Today Sports. She’s a 6-0 guard who averaged 28 points and six rebounds last season and she was a four-star recruit.
